What Clients Say
John and I connected about 10 years ago. I had an art gallery in Boulder for 30 years. If memory serves me, he just stopped by one day and asked if I could take a look at his paintings. I was taken by how kind he seemed, so I said yes. Normally, I discouraged walk-in approaches, but something made me want to see this man's work.
Upon going through the pieces in his car, I knew immediately I wanted to represent his work. Why was that? I had never seen an approach to painting as John did. He has a way of layering his paint to create a very deep and soulful experience. And he brought to my collection of painters a completely different experience. A very quiet but oddly strong execution. His work invites you to really slow down and travel through the piece. When you can get a viewer to engage with a given work to that degree, well, let's just say as an art salesman, you've just pushed the love affair between the viewer and the piece closer to a final sale. In the end, John's work is special because of this. It honestly challenges you to look closer. When it comes to "selling" art, I learned many years ago that no one can really sell art. The magic between the customer and the work has to happen on its own. John's work brings that to the table.
I would also like to add that working with John as a person is a pure pleasure. He is graceful and kind.
